: sentra dirt circle track racing HELP
jammasterj787 06-19-2009, 02:10 PM Whats up everyone im new to the forum here. I got a 01 sentra se with the 2.0 5spd lsd. Im looking for any tips to making it faster but look 100% stock under the hood. As of now the car is gutted just a drivers seat and dash. No glass or lights the car scales at 2150 right now. I cut of the exhaust from the front pipe. Advanced ignition timing to about 18 deg and run a 93/ vp mix for gas. I got 1 race out of it placed in 2nd. The only thing I really had a big problem with is the car would pull great 1st to 2nd to 3rd at 4k rpms the car would just not pull at all......I mean a saturn and a golf where catching up when i go into 3rd gear and we all know that should not happen!!! So I would have to go back to 2nd gear and bounce of off 6800 to pull away...... something is up

I'm more of a B13 guy, but can tell you that a highport intake cam will give you a nice bump in power, and a G20 ecu will raise your redline, I think up to 7,500.
B13's love 19* timing on stock ecu's. Not so sure about B14's.
Another option would be a Calum ecu.

jammasterj787 06-19-2009, 02:57 PM now whats the deal with the high port cam? where can i get one? ...and one other problem is that the b15 has the chip key so if i swap an ecm on that car that will kick security so no fuel or spark????

To buy one, search the forum classified ads, they're for sale all the time. If you don't see any, place a WTB ad.
No idea about the key.
Are you allowed to replace the exhaust manifold with a header? If so, that would be your best bet. If not, can you replace it with an earlier factory one from a B13 or B14? Neither of them have integrated cats.

swiss 06-19-2009, 03:58 PM You can't use a highport intake cam in your car because it has a roller rocker motor in it. You'll have to excuse chriscar, he's a noob. :poke:

jammasterj787 06-19-2009, 06:39 PM Any ideas on why the car would not have any power from 4k and up in 3rd gear. I mean it felt like i was shifting from 2nd to 5th. I just find it hard to belive that the timing would only effect it on 3rd gear and up?????? im open to all ideas here. I cant run a header or intake. Its gotta look stock. What about the a/c comp. Its with the alt and a smaller belt does not work???

jammasterj787 06-21-2009, 11:03 PM i think im gonna just drive the stratus. same 2200lbs way more power just handling is better with the sentra......u guys must hate the fact that n\a power a 2.4 swap neon will smoke any n/a powered sentra. and a srt4 i know first hand can crush any sr or ve det !!!!!!!!

Then I got this sentra cheap and I was gonna just fix the brakes and a/c and sell it and make some cash on it. But I was into the nissans back when I was 18 and fig that the car gutted with the 2.0 and the lsd trans would be a fast car to run. But its not. And now I have a sentra thats a track car now im stuck with.
swiss 06-22-2009, 11:09 AM The B15 is just a really poor candidate for racing. It weighs several hundred pounds more than a B13, but it has the same (roughly) motor. Even with bolt ons they aren't really fast, much less stock. They also lack the independent rear suspension you'd find in a B13.
You can find B13 SERs pretty cheap. Especially a beater to use for dirt track racing. You should sell the 01 and look for one from 91-94.
jammasterj787 06-22-2009, 05:25 PM well im gonna chop some more weight out of it ,gut that manifold cat out, put the timing back down to 15deg and run it one last time. I just cant belive you guys dont have a way to get rid of the a/c.
