205 50 15 on 15x7 is what I've been running, but I'm having trouble finding the Hankook Z214 tires in this size. I've located some 225 50 16s - will they fit my NX's wheelwells? Has anyone run this size? I run 18mm spacers. Can anyone offer suggestions? Next race is July 4 so time is key.

Probably way too tall unless you're turbo.

Nope, I'm not turbo'd so that would be a stumbling block. This tire would be 1.8 inches greater in diameter. However, if this wider/taller tire fit the wheelwells having a taller tire/effective gearing would give me a better second gear setting going through turn 5 at Mosport, I'd be struggling like usual going up the uphill andretti straight, but then it's going downhill again. I'm tempted to try it.

For what it's worth, I have personal experience in a 205/55/15 NOT fitting on my NX2k.

I'm sticking with 205 50 15
I'm passing up on a great deal on the 16s, but I'm sure they won't fit. Sigh.

225/45R16 tires usually won't fit: they will run into the fender liner in front when you turn the wheel and probably rub in back. 225/50R16 definitely won't fit.

I already buzz the liner with 205/50/15's up front if I crank it over too hard in autocross, and very occasionally buzz the fender itself on the track - which is partially rolled front and rear.
Add to that about 10mm increase in sidewall height and about 7% increase in effective gear ratio over your 15's, no way. Won't fit and if they did you'd be bummed with the taller effective gearing with no increase in power.
Add to that the lightest 16" commonly available wheels are usually 3-4 lbs heavier than the 15" counterpart, add increased rolling weight and 12-15 lbs of unsprung weight to your corners, wrong direction there, too.
