hey guyz and gals, im kinda new to this whole nissan tuning thing, i was looking for a ecu, that i can have more control over myself, currently i have a sentra with a built bluebird motor, gt3076,i want to put 1000cc injectors but need something to control fuel, timing and etc,no chipped ecu!!,i wanted to know the pros and cons of the Calum RT/PRO compared to the Megasquirt III, like how much control over the car functions will i have and can i eliminate the maf sensor and etc...

i think with megasquirt u can emiminate the maf due to it being a standalone. however with calum i dont think that can happen. a full standalone will give u all the tunning capabalities u need. look into the aem plug and play.

Megasquirt is a very good system, very flexible. Comparison:
- CalumSult is plug-n-play, meaning you simply plug it into the factory wiring harness; Megasquirt requires you to rewire the entire system to accommodate their pin outs.
- Calumsult Real Time provides the Consult functions built-in. Of course, with MS you won't need Consult.
- With the MS you can remove the MAF entirely and instead base your load map programming on TPS and a MAP (MAP is built into the ECU board).
- MS has a much better support forum for doing the actual tuning; Calum basically just provides the hardware. While Calum will provide to you tuning BIN files for basic setup (and there's a forum here for questions), you're pretty much on your own for the detailed tuning stuff.
Depends on your end goals, level of technical skills, and motivation... - GA
