hey guys, i recently started getting this problem.. when i put in a gear and gear my rpm increases, i noticed that the rpm matches that of the rpm when the engine is cold and the rpm increases to warm up the engine, what can i do to trouble shoot this problem, and fix it..

does this happen when you drive or sitting idle?

it happens at both idle and driving, i did notice that it was normal a couple of times( literally ), i was able to adjust the cold idle down from 2000rpm to 1500 last night on work, ( i forgot to mention that the cold idle rpm was a bit high ) and after warming up the car and checking again, i still found that the rpm would increase to 2000rpms when i put in a gear.
the only thing i did on the engine before i started getting the problem was get the throttle body, injectors, plugs serviced, and change the cylinder head gasket. the car was not working properly before loosing power, after service it works like a gem except for this problem, that is annoying and will burn a lot of gas for me..:-S

What electrics are you using?

The rpm increase in gear is normal.

You said you serviced throttle body. Did you also remove the TPS?

Check tps voltage but most important make sure tps is off when not in throttle. You can check this by consult.
Your voltage might be ok but the tps could be always on. You have to remove it and place it back correctly.

When you do this set engine in timing mode and adjust again your base idle.

I agree with Out of Sight. If your throttle body was cleaned, your base idle porbably needs to be adjusted. Also a good idea to check TPS voltage.
