I am considering upgrading from by B14 SER to a B15 SE. I really want to find one with side airbags and ABS. Supplimental Side Airbags were an option and from what I can gather they are located in the seats as opposed to the doors.

a) Does anyone have a picture of the side airbags in the seats so I know what to look for?

b) From this vin decoder http://www.pbase.com/cleanmaxx_brian/image/19276707 it looks like the 8th digit pertains to the safety equipment. I am guessing "D" means no side airbags and "A" means side airbags. Can anyone confirm this?

I have been searching used cars and the "A" cars are much more rare, so I am guessing this might actually be the best way to identify the option. Thanks

All you really need to look for is a little thing on the side of the seat towards the b pillar. its kinda like a little label off a shirt that says srs airbag. i can have a pic of it later if you really need it. this is where it would be located, but on the other side of the seat. it is on both seats btw.

good luck on finding one that is a 2001 with the LSD trans and ABS, as it was optional in 2000 and in 2001 you couldn't even get abs. So you would be looking for a 2000 if you want one with the LSD trans.
