Will you guys help me with this weird problem. I install my new strut bar today. Turn the car on the light for the BRAKE and BATTERY stays on won shut off? I check the brake fluid, full... the belts for alternator still tight. WTF

ok where i live in sa,tx we've been having a shitload of rain this past week and everytime i go through a big puddle, i hear the belt squeek temporarily and then sometimes after that the brake light and batt light come on and then go away. but i hear a clicking noise as well. I dont think my alternator is going out, i think it maybe that the belt isnt getting grip with the water and the alternator? Anyone ?

I think you have a good guess. I would check the belt. Sounds a lot like your belt is slipping. Check and adjust the belt tension, or maybe replace it if they look worn.

a friend of mine told me a couple months back that my belt is starting to show like it's time for a new one. Maybe he was right. Any suggestions on belts? Brand or anything like that? and i'm guessing the belt might be hard to replace, any tips would be helpful.

I had a leak in my power steering and it was dripping fluid on my belt when the belt would slip the battery light would turn on , fixed that and 2 weeks later the alternator took a shit , I got the best luck..:confused:
