Has anyone ever heard of such a thing! WTF! I deliver pizza all day and the car has a problem. I checked the archive and nothing seemed to fit my scenario. One day it wouldnt start caught it in gear worked for a few days now it does the same thing only more often. If I turn the key it makes NO noise so I keep turning and it fires on like the 15 - 20 time range then next time fires right up. The only thing I have done is turned my dome light on and turned it over while the problem was occurring and it didnt wince so I know I have power. Anybody know how to check a solenoid or am I up the crick to take it to the shop. Any help would be great. Thanks for your time.

Sounds like the starter is bad.

Mine happen last week. I thought it was the starter, no no the battery first. Than I crawl under the car, tap the starter, it has no effect toward the car... I jump the battery it ran fine. So it check those two.
Andreas Miko in FL., sell the starter for 70 if you need

Hmmm,
Neutral/clutch safety switch. Grumpy ignition switch. I know mine will not always start on the first turn. Just trying again w/ the key or a pump on the clutch and it starts just fine. My mom's ex car (94 SE-R auto) needed a new ignition cylinder bout 40K miles cause it wouldn't start. Just a few more ideas.

happened to mine, too. There was a faint click when I turned the key, and that would be it. I kept turning it, getting angry and shaking the car a bit, then it worked. Turned out to be a loose ground connection (where the neg. battery cable connects to the block). Tightened that, bingo bango.

I also agree with Paul P that it could be the neutral start switch. In any case, it sounds more like a bad connection somewhere than a bad starter.

very similar thing happening to me. for a while it was cranking slower than usual, and then all of a sudden i could turn the key and get no response at all except a clicking from a couple relays. everyone i talked to seems to think its the starter. im going to check the ground tomorrow and if that doesnt do anything im sending my money to andreas (even though he's not that great at answering emails, enough people here have dealt with him im not worried about getting ripped off)
