I swapped a VE in and have disconnected one of the wires going to this thing on my 98 becuase I needed to to get my 95 ecu swap to work right. Can I just take this and all the assorted wires off of it and remove all this stuff?

I don't know on your 98, but I had removed the CC on my '91 and I constantly smelled raw gas under the hood. I didn't want to plug the line from the gas tank , because it would build up pressure. So I ended up putting it back on, to save the earth. :) If you could find a vented gas cap to fit, then it wouldn't be a problem.
