I'm traveling down 32nd street last night in Grand Rapids, going about 35-45 with the rest of my buddies, and this older lady RUNS THE BLINKING RED, and STOPS, emphasis on STOPS, in the middle of the flippin intersection, probably because she knew that she had run it and saw me comin. Now at the time, I may have been doin a little more than 40, like 55, for reasons unkown of course? So my non-abs equipped car now has its brakes locked up and is leaving a pretty respectable line of rubber, too bad it's not from a burnout. But wait, it gets better, ohhhh way better, and the lady gets even dumber! By now, I had anticipated that she was gonna keep on her merry way and head straight through the intersection, like nothing ever happened. So I had my wheel cocked towards her rear end so I would go behind her and give me that extra room to miss her. Nah, she didn't want to do that. She wanted to back up, reverse! Right to the exact place that my tires were squeelin to. BAM! T-bone. End of story. This lady was dirving a POS, like, 85 Escort hatch, so I'm sure that she didn't even care about the damage to her car.

But now the good news! I had a badly creased front bumper, hood, radiator, headlights and grill. Most likely the core support also. But no matter. I can replace all of those with better things. Ohhhh, drift front bumper, fiber images hood, halo lights, and a brand new fluidine radiator. Ahh the joys of car wrecks!

Ever head of pumping your breaks instead of letting them lock up? $5 says you probably wouldn't have hit the lady if you would've done that. I'm 17 and I know to do it. I've even had to do it in one or two panic situations. I'm glad my dad taught me how to drive because my SE-R probably wouldn't be in my driveway right now if I didn't know how to stop a non-ABS equipped car.
