: My replica FMAX manifold

In order to save a bit of money on my next and upcoming project, i enlisted the help of my good friend Dave Eastern, who works as a fabricator. I showed his a couple of pics of the FMAX T3 manifold and asked if he could make me one. Heres a link (http://www.primeragtp11.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/manifoldx.html) to the results so far.

the 4 branches have been temporarily tacked to the flange so that in future, i can reduce the depth of it. I feel it may stick out too much from the engine which will cause the turbo to sit incorrectly.

Also, if you notice on the FMAX manifold, there are some cuts between each port of the flange plate, do you think i should add them into the replica? is this for expansion purposes?

Now all that remains is to weld the turbo and the wastegate flange on when i get round to buying them.

If your friend is interested in making some more, I would be interested. 600$US for a manifold is too much than I can afford!

Yeah, the slots are fore expansion purposes.

yes it is thats why you got to give Bruce a call at Protech, 350 for the logstyle manifol....

Maybe somebody could PM me on this (I don't want to steal the thread), but a logstyle manifold doesn't look too fluent effective to me. The #1 and #4 cylinders face each other while the #2 and #3 faces a T intersection. Is there something I don't get?

yeah i understand what you mean, but if it works for FMAX then i guess it must be ok. Arent some guys running around 400BHP using manifolds like this?

Yes the cuts are for expansion purposes . It will lessen the chance of warpage of the flange

Cool, thanks, i'll get them cut in once the rest is done.

You can call Bruce at Protech at 909 485 9535, he can build you either an equal length or a log style manifold. To tell the truth, he can build you any type of manifold you desire, he is just that good.
