Okay i got an o2 induction with a q45 and im having problems wiring in the tps. Starts up good and takes off to 3k then to 5k in neutral so that points to the tps. I got a tps plug off a q30 and it plugs in and everything now I just need to know how to splice the wires.
TIA

use the red white and black just like the stock...

its into a b13. The plug I have doesnt have red white and black. Thats why im looking for answers from what i have read and heard the middle is usually the signal and the 2 outside ones you have to figure out.

ignore the colors. Whatever you splice into just keep the pins ging to the appropriate wire and thats that. since the pulg is keyed to only go in one way...

tried that and it doesnt seem to like me. White is the middle one on the b13 plug and the black and red ones are the outside ones. I tried splicing the white into the middle one and the same with the outside ones and no go.

use a meter. The last time I used a q45 tb I used the stock tps from the sr20 tb with a little fab work.

Okay when using a dvm what should i be looking for? I feel like a noob with this stuff but this q45 stuff is unique. I already cut the old tps off so there is no turning back now( i could get one from the junkyard if needed) but i should just be able to splice the wires right in.

the Q45 TPS IS NOT UNIQUE
It works the exact same way as any other nissan TPS
Theres a Ground----meter will read 0v or close to it
Theres a Signal----meter will read 0-5V depending how much the throttle is open
and Theres a power wire----meter will read 12V.
Theres no mistaking one for the other. If you hook it up backwards itll run liek total shit. Just like hooking up a MAF backwards.
Also which connector are you using? If youre trying to wire into the small black one on the TPS its not gonna work. That is a switching circuit for the cruise control IIRC you need to wire into the pigtail coming out of the TPS box that has red/white/black wires and uses the same connector as many common Nissan 02 sensors....

BAM there is the info I need, I was trying to do the one on the black tps itself. I thought the other one was for the autos. Your the man and thanks luis for helping me as well. I will try it now and see what happens.
Glad to hear you have it straightened out! Your car will be totally different at around 5k :D

Okay went ahead and installed it onto the right plug now I get a hunting idle from 2-3 up and down. I'm assuming that its still not installed correctly.
Are you plugging into the "pigtail" harness or the black box on the TPS? You should be using the hanging harness.

im using the pigtail one not the one that is on the tps itself.

I got it BIG ups to luis and nx and tekkie for getting me to where i am. Idles absolutely perfect at 1k and now i have to solder it in and im done.

why are you soldering it in? You can just get a connector from various O2 sensors and crimp it in and have it done right?
From what youre saying it sounds like your soldering the wires into the pigtail connector...thats a big no no, but whatever.
Shit, dont thank Luis....he's been e-mailing me to help fix this problem the whoel time :D
