--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

okay so i have a 96 se-r that i am starting to turbo and i put 370cc injectors in and a z32 maf soldered in by my bro. i got a calum computer from a forum member tuned for the 370s and z32.

when i install the calum computer i turn the key to the on position and my rpm gauge flickers to about 2k and back down to zero, fan kicks on for a half a second and shuts back off and i dont hear my fuel pump kick on at all. so i dont know if this computer is junk or im just doing something wrong.

after i tried the calum and it didnt fire up i put my stock ecu back in to make sure my fuel pump isnt the problem and it isnt. kicks right on like it should. cranks but doesnt fire probably due to the z32 being installed.

I was wondering if I just got a safc II and switched the maf setting to 2 IN and 6 Out from what I researched(not 100% sure) that I could start my car with my stock ecu and the z32?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated because I am so  right now!

thanks for the reply, i think i am leaning towards the safc.

this one looks promising, do you think this will work for me? thanks

which is better: safc, safc II, or safc NEO?

Alright, the stock ECU should still start with the Z32 installed as the small volume of air passing through the MAF at idle will still be 'close' to the voltage of the stock MAF hence it should still start.

Disconnect the MAF with the DE computer and try starting it just to get it idling(dont rev it!) I would be double checking the MAF wiring just to be sure, especially the + and signal wiring.

Calum ECU sounds like the board is loose in its solder joints.

okay, after a little more work today it turns out that I think someone syphoned my gas and I wore my starter out.

I knew my gas was low when I stoped driving the car but now the needle was way below E. I also noticed some pry marks on my gas door. How irritating and low...

Anyways I think I wore my starter out trying to start it without gas (before i knew it was syphoned) because now it just clicks and i double checked my battery to make sure it wasnt dead. it read 12.50 V so i just ended up pop starting it.

Finally some luck... it started (with the stock ecu and the maf unplugged) by poping it but didnt stay running but we're getting somewhere now, yay!

hopefully i will get my safc neo soon and go from there...

got the safc neo installed and got it running.

wont idle on its own and it is still running really rich no matter how much i turn down the air map.
