I have a 99 SE-L Sentra I am doing the NX 2000 brake upgrade. I wanted to know if I need to swap out the master cylinder for an NX 2000 master cylinder? Or would I be able to just use the stock one that is on my car already.

Also has anyone done this on this model car if so would like to hear from you thanks.

i believe, only if you swap to maxima rears, you would need to upgrade your master cylinder

A NX master cylinder will give you a better pedal feel, but the stock one will work. Now if you need a new one, buy a NX.

Go the link on using the maxima rear calipers. There's information about master cylinders and their proportioning pressures. You may also want to search the racing section of the forum. Many have upgraded to the NX2k calipers and there may be additional master cylinder info there.

Years ago I went to the Altima MC 15/16" on my NX2k. Normal dia. is 7/8". It was fine for the street and track.

Recently, I added the maxima rear calipers. They and the Altima MC were fitted to NX2k's going to Europe.

On the track the improvement in brake feel and braking balance was very noticeable.

That suggests the Altima mc had been mismatched to my car all along. I drove it for years on the street and track like that. Only when I changed to the exact factory set up (the Euro set up) did I notice the difference!
