About a month ago, I replaced the motor mount that is near the fluid overflow box (passenger side). The old mount was cracked/torn pretty good in a few places and it was a PITA to replace (don't ask). Following the replacement, I have continued to have horrible vibrations coming from the front end of the car, which leads me to believe I have another bad mount(s). Today I checked the mount that I had replaced a month ago, and there are two cracks forming on the upper part of the mount. Also, the mount appears to be less round then it was the last time I checked it (the rubber seems pretty smushed). My question is, is it normal for cracks to be forming already, or is the mount wrecked again? TIA!

did you replace them with an oem mount? i'm currently using the energy suspension inserts and yes, i can feel heck of a lot of vibration at idle, but i don't think they are worn out. oem's should be smooth and i think you should've replaced all of them at the same time so that new mount won't stress too much trying to compensate with the old ones.

I replaced it with an OEM one. I agree with you; I should have replaced them all at once. After I replaced the one mount I said to myself, if the other's are bad, this one's going to have to pick up the extra slack. I'm having the other one's replaced sometime next week. Hopefully, the one I replaced isn't bad, because that'll be another 97 bucks out the window. :(

Depending on how hard you drive or have driven since it was installed AND based on the fact that all of your other mounts are probably worn and in need of replacement, it most likely could happen in such a short amount of time.

I learned that on my old '91 NX2000. I replaced the right front first and drove that way for quite some time. By the time I got around to replacing the others, the right front was already worn out. Maybe 6 months.

Thanks for the reply, Brandon. I drive the car pretty hard, so I bet it's worn out already. I think I'll play it safe and just get every single mount replaced. I don't even want to know what that will cost me. Oh well, I should have done it right the first time.

funny how immediately after i did es torque inserts my side mount went bad... so i had to reorder and wait all over again when i should have just bought all the crap at once..

how much did you pay to get the side mount done? i have the es that has to be pressed in..

and there's some other tranny side insert that comes with it which nobody talks about.. anybody know what that is?

since i have to get it pressed in anyway by a shop i'm leaning towards paying nissan to do the work for me.. i'm lazy.

don't pay the stealership or another mechanic for what you can do. Get a bench vise (or go to a friend's house that has one) and lube the es bushing with a hella lot of wd-40 and use the vise to press it in. that's what I did.

That's the tranny mount, it's so easy to install, take you maybe 1/2 hour to replace
Meanwhile, I did my tranny and passenger side mount about 4 months before the torque mounts and they still dont seem all that solid, i was kind of disappointed, although it is much better than stock

I replaced the side mount myself. It cost 97 dollars to order the part from Nissan.

Thanks, i'll try it myself this weekend then.. i searched in haynes for the tranny mount and it does look easy.. thanks for the motivation..

$97 for the oem side mount vs $36 ES for side and tranny.. that ES stuff is a great deal..
