: 11.1@131.4mph at Dragstrip
ashtonsnissannx 08-02-2009, 03:39 PM Well guys i just got back from the strip, it was a hot one out as well with track temps still in the 90's by the time we were done running. Oh well.
The slicks i picked up were 24.5X7X13 old m/t's that were pretty worn so traction was still a big issue. I could not get off the line near as good as i though i would with these. I was pulling better 60's with my 22X8X15's.
Still burned the slicks all the way through 1st and 2nd and then it finally started to somewhat grip in 3rd. All in all im happy with the new best, I was hoping for at least the high 10 sec run.
Best run was my last run at 11.10@ 131.4 mph I picked up 4mph on my trap speed even though it was hotter out. car was running perfect and nothing broke, haha Always a good thing. Ill post up the slip and vids later.
Cant wait till a couple more months and ill be up anohter 90whp or so and be back in the cooler weather.
Here are some vids. Got to meet up with some cool people with some sick cars. Like this 700awhp evo8. Thing is Nasty!!!

60ft: 1.789
330ft: 4.91
1/8: 7.321 @ 101.01mph
1000ft: 9.32 @118mph
1/4: 11.10 @131.43mph
budgetNX 08-02-2009, 04:18 PM arent you running a stock tranny too?
do you have a cage in that car?
ashtonsnissannx 08-02-2009, 04:22 PM yep stock trans and axles,
no cage, i got booted after that run, haha i was hitting 11.4's *** of traction and even that 11.1 was sucky traction and you can hear it, haha. But the guy was giving me chances, haha.
Those are all next items to come later
SERNEWBIE 08-02-2009, 04:24 PM damn nice run man
t bags 08-02-2009, 06:02 PM welded trans? once that thing got traction she was out..glad to see that evo get nervous
ashtonsnissannx 08-02-2009, 08:02 PM nope not even welded.
Yeah he is a buddy i met up with out there. His evo is sick, Can we say carbon fiber roof....what....haha, His car is absolutely done up.
kaotekxe 08-03-2009, 06:29 AM damn i should have gone out.. im looking for an 11 sec pass also
pabloyoc 08-03-2009, 12:26 PM greatt !!!!!!!
nismo94tuner 08-03-2009, 12:42 PM 10's are calling for you! How is the motor holding up so far? Any changes?

^10's coming soon! The motor seems to be doing well. DE head with a VE bottom. D*mn that car moves out!
nope not even welded.

^Good sh*t Ashton! I thought about that CF roof deal, but that is to much show for me. Maybe later if I get big big raise lol. EVO's are the shizzle.
ashtonsnissannx 08-03-2009, 01:22 PM the motor is doing awesome, 2 straight trips to the track and nothing broke.
The only thing im dissapointed in like i said before is the motor has excessive blowby due to low compression on #3 mainly but on all due to the original 3 startups with no oil pressure.
It probably took the honing right off the walls and damaged the rings in the process. The motor doesnt smoke and under boost it runs like a dream, Partial throttle and down low out of boost you can feel the lack of power a bit. But the blowby has not gotten any worse its just excessive. But thats what a catch can is for, haha.
It sucks though just had a bit of crappy luck right at the beginning. The damage was already done. Im going to be saving up about $400 bucks to get a new headgasket, new acl bearings, and new CP piston rings. Ill tear apart the motor and have the bores re honed by the machine shop and it should be a nice fresh healthy motor from low to high. But its not necessary to do i just want to do it.
Ive put almost 5500 miles on it so far of hard hard abuse. It has seen 26psi on 110 octane race fuel. No issues at all. Im very happy with the build and how the car runs. Just wait till its 65 deg out and bigger slicks, And maybe just maybe the o2 induction manifold or another custom intake manifold. Should be at the 550whp at 26-27psi easily.
MR-4Door-SR20DET 08-03-2009, 01:51 PM ^Dude the O2 is a must for you! I kept putting it off from my spread sheet not being able to justify spending that much money on a intake manifold, but it does add like 30-40WHP. We both have highports and that makes it that much harder to come by. I think Payu still has one. I'm trying to work a deal with a guy that has one. If I get it, it's on! Good luck with everything bro.
jonwepa 08-03-2009, 05:56 PM What turbo you running? GT35?
MR-4Door-SR20DET 08-03-2009, 06:03 PM What turbo you running? GT35?
Garrett t3t04 60 trim turbo w/ a .82 turbine housing
^It's in his sig.
Rockwood 08-03-2009, 06:05 PM No need for much bigger slicks unless you want to change the gearing. Traction is based more on weight, pressure and compound than on tire size anyway.
What gear are you doing your burnout in? I didn't see much smoke n the video.
Either way, great 60' time, it's second gear that you need work with (same problem my car had). I noticed I got better times if I let it blow off all the boost shifting into second (basically, don't get back on the throttle so fast). Real easy to blow the tires away in 2nd in these beasts.
What suspension are you running?

Whoops didn't see that. Wow thats amazing! I have to get cams!

Naghbee has one get at him I know he is selling some of his stuff.

60 foot was good but i think with the 9" wide slick i can pull a 1.5XX I did 1.70 on my 22X8X15's set to 11 psi. So im pretty sure i can get it down there. Not to mention the track prep wasnt great either. They usually do alot more prep especially when they are doing bracket racing. But it was just open drags so thats probably why.
The wider slick will definetly help. I tried both easing through 2nd and just burning the tires while still accelerating and that came out better haha, I was doing my burnout in 1st gear and not a very good one. But again the slicks i was using were 7 years old and had no life left on them. They were completely worn. Its kinda my fault for even attempting to run on them but i gave it a shot *** they were taller. Oh well. I know what needs to be changed in order to do better.
My suspension setup is Full es bushings all the way around, Ground control coiliovers on GR2 struts. The suspension is pretty stiff and you can see from the vids my car does not dip down much at all at launch. Ive definetly go the power and with even more coming soon before i go back out i think some low low 10's are in order. haha my goal trap is 140+
Wish me luck. Probably October time, we will see.
gomba 08-03-2009, 09:24 PM Were those 5500 hard miles on the same stock tranny or did you ever break one? If not, what's your secret ;)
ashtonsnissannx 08-03-2009, 11:37 PM nope, i went through one after about 4k miles of hard hard abuse on it. Once this one breaks if it does, ill be putting in a p11 trans to take care of that little problem.
