I am needing to replace my motor mounts and want to actually replace the engine torque mount with solid metal instead of a rubber insulator. Has anyone done this on their sr20? I remember the good ole v-8 days with solid "elephant ear" motor mounts on the big block mopars but haven't seen this on the 4 cylinders. Are there any real downfalls? I drive it daily but the more radical the better. Please let me know. Thanks.

I Had custom metal braces monted on both sides of my front mount,it
really helped me out,but later I replaced them with the ES
incerts, the inserts are the better way to go,their cheaper, and they do *** same thing just as good, trust me

I have seen them on 2 cars. The AEBS SE-R and Jamies car. I think they were solid metal. Don't ask me the maufacturer.

what i want to know is: is it ok to use the window weld to replace the whole bushing? i was thinking of doing this instead of just filling it.

as for metal motor mounts i know they sell solid rear subframe bushings for 240's and all they have is good comments for them. engine mounts i dont know. i figure it would transfer more of the vibration but were not interested in luxury like most.
