I keep tryin and its sorta rounding out the bolt. Its a 16mm bolt corrrect? I dont wanna screw myself and break the bolt either.
Any ideas guys? I need to break that mother lose! haha
AngrySquid 08-05-2009, 09:15 PM I haven't meet a bolt yet that I haven't been able to get off with my 25" breaker bar.
If you don't have a breaker I'd suggest picking one up, I think its my favorite tool.

daveracer 08-05-2009, 09:19 PM Ummmmm should be 17mm.......
Use an impact gun or a breaker bar :)
paNX2K&SE-R 08-05-2009, 09:25 PM Come on man thats a California car, there's no such thing as a stuck bolt! ;)
Try loosening bolts when the underside of your car looks like this:

jesus f'n christ... haha
yea i just gotta get a breaker bar, hopefully i can get the leverage with my car on jack stands haha
paNX2K&SE-R 08-05-2009, 09:32 PM Yeah a nice sized breaker bar or a cheater pipe should do the trick. You could also try a shot of PB blaster just to be sure.
SERpriz 08-05-2009, 11:11 PM i usually use an impact too
eric96ser 08-06-2009, 12:44 AM I use a 17mm closed end wrench and hit it with a hammer.

Question, where is your spring?
98sr20ve 08-06-2009, 11:22 AM PB Blaster. Soak it for a day. Try it with a impact socket and a breaker bar. I always soak suspension bolts for a day with PB Blaster before working on the car.

This is the truth. it makes the small guys have strength like the big guys
1992sentraser 08-31-2009, 07:46 PM soak the hell out of it with the PB Blaster for a while then use the proper size with a breaker bar......if it doesnt work try using a hammer on the end of the breaker bar.....if the bolt ends up rounding somewhat use a hammer and a cheap socket one size smaller than the right one beat it one and try that....hope that helps
Ulysses 09-01-2009, 03:48 AM Question, where is your spring?
Heres the answer
Ok first heres the broke strut. I was able to pull the spring off by hand (was surprised it held as long as it did with me driving on it).

MUFASA 09-01-2009, 04:17 AM damn thats crazy, and your from the OC too.
96SERTurbo 09-01-2009, 09:09 AM Breaker bars suck! I always user a pipe on my 1/2 inch drive craftsmen wrench. With a breaker bar, I can never get the right angle. plus the Craftsman is stronger. I have broken 3-4 breaker bats and only one wrench. Plus the wrench has a no hassle lifetime guarantee.
