I have 2mm or so of white lime scale build up on my engine coolant inlet and outlet. Once i have the block stripped is it safe to use toilet bowl cleaner or gasoline to flush this stuff out? If not what do you use?
thanks

How do you know it's lime? Did you use tap water instead of distilled?
Gasoline won't touch mineral build-up.
If it is mineral scale, use Lime Away or CLR diluted in water to flush the passages in the block. You really want to get rid of that scale because it makes a rather good insulator.

when i bought a sentra from my friend with a blown head gasket, that stuff was real think on the coolant passages around the cylinder bores. i dont think any cleaner would remove it, you gotta scrap as much off as possible.
