We have gotten accepted for the 24 Hours of Lemons; Nelson Ledges The Lamest Day.

Car: 1998 Sentra 1.6l

Going with ADV22F brakes.
Front blown (no gas charge left) AGXs with 350ish springs.
Rear???

Have a bunch of questions:

What pads, this is a true 24 hour race, but we will probably be on all seasons, or at best 195/50 Direzza Star Specs. We don't need extremely aggressive braking and definitely would prefer the least amount of service/changes as possible. I am leaning towards XP8s/XP10s. Is it realistic to get through 24 hours with one set of pads.
What do I do with the rear suspension. I have B13 rear GC sleeves and a bunch of 6" long springs. Can these work? I have only popped my head up in the wheel well once, the rear on the B14 looks like it may require taller springs?
I am just planning on using the stock (tired) rear shocks and 550 springs in the rear with no sway bar. Probably running a less aggressive tire in the rear compared with front.
How do you do an A/C compressor removal. The idler pulley is throwing me off. Haven't looked at it too close, but not like the SR20.

Thanks,
Jeremy

Wouldn't that thing pogo all over the place with 550s and stock blown shocks? I say you drill a hole, drain the fluid and replace with something thicker, like gear oil or some sort of hydraulic fluid.

Make a new rear upper shock mount plate that's flat to get some more travel out of it.

Get the shortest tire you can. That poor thing is pretty underpowered. Believe it or not, but exhaust actually helps on those cars since they were breathing through a pea shooter.

No clue on the A/C compressor.

hi.

i wouldn't recommend carbotech for an endurance pad. the longest lasting, toughest pad i have ever used is raybestos st43. they last a LONG time and are extremely consistent, even at high temps. for sure, concentrate on making that car light. light weight will be key to you lasting -- making tires last, brakes last, hubs last, tranny last, etc...

good luck

Just be sure to have a good story to explain the coil overs, during tech inspections the judges are actually jacking up cars.

Bring an extra set of everything. We're running Lemons in a B13 this coming weekend and are bringing 3 sets of pads and 3 sets of rotors......along with enough parts to build another B13 ;) You cannot prepare enough for an endurance race.

Poor Titan... :D

BTW, I'm really starting to regret not getting a car ready for this one... :(

I'd have to check, but I think we got through a whole 24hrs in the ITB car at Nelson on one set of pads.

do they allow Solid Engine mounts in the race?

or just fill up your mounts with some Sikaflex extra strength Polyurethane

i dunno if they sell the Federal 595 EVO SS stateside, these should last you for the entire length of the race, are rated at a 260 treadwear and get really grippy like a 180 once worn down to 60% tread, we have used these in Local RWYB and it outperforms the ADVAN AD07 once worn down.
