i have access to a wideband for 1 day only. i will be doing a street tune all day on thursday. the info here is so widespread i figured id just start a specific thread. from the research ive done, i found 14.7 is optimal for crusing. in talking to my buddy who is going to be working the laptop, he said 12's are optimal. also, i read a/f ratio varies in reference to geographic location. i.e. sea level and air pressure crap. where do i want my numbers @ cruising and WOT? im in NH.

12s is great while under load just keep in mind that at 12 you dont have alot of room for a mistake. Do yourself a favor and set it to 11.5-11.7. Make it a little richer right be fore redline(9.5-10 or so) because if you hit the revlimiter hard it tends to go real lean and thats a no no.

11.5 to 11.8 is where you want it for safety

X3 for WOT, and somewhere around 14.7 cruising (partial throttle).

What about at idle? Mine will be anywhere from the same as partial throttle up to 17.1.

Street tune: 11.8-12.0 AFR. WOT
Loaded Dyno: 11.9-12.1 AFR WOT (loaded dyno's yield richer conditions on the street with the car, than on the dyno)
Part Throttle: 12.1-12.5
Cruising: 14.3-14.7
Idle: 14.7-15.5 (Nissan Factory tune is in this area at idle)

thats the best way to look at it....I didnt consider what psi everyone may or may not be running. I run 15-20psi so I try not to go leaner than 11.7ish

My motor ran well for 80k miles while turbo'd with an AFR of ~11.5 at WOT under 7psi (7 psi being all it could hold to redline). I see about ~11.0 now at WOT at 11-12 psi. I think that's a good safe number. I would tune for 14.7 when cruising and idling.

holy fuck was i running rich! may as well just pour fuel directly into the head!!! my buddy turned and looked at me and said "i cant believe you ever pulled a 13.7 rich like this!" he uncovered sooo much power today it is crazy! tires used to break loose in 2nd, now its just effortless like 1st! unfortunately he is unfamiliar with tunerPro and nissans, so we were adjusting the wrong map. where im running with the o2 off in my program, we wanted to tune the no feedback primary fuel map. we adjusted the feedback one. it still helped, but now we know why it was a PITA for the adjustments to take. he dialed in boost A/F, but cruising is still a little rich at 12.5-13. it runs soooo much smoother now, and SOP HP has certainly increased! we were out for about 4hrs. the 1st hour alone was spent getting out of 10.0!!! i should hopefully get more than 140 miles from a tank of gas now! just gotta cut my 60ft from a 2.3, and im definately good for 12's!!!!!!

i love how I spoke up and tons of ppl started chipping in..... Just so you know on drag cars( race fuel and rip and dip drag track only) ppl run 12.8-13.0 this is where the power is but they are really pushing the det. limit check out CFT Orlando they wont let you know there exact setup but they run some really high comp/ratios plus boost HP is made in the timing(on a good tune and built motor).

yeah, we didnt really want to mess with timing. the curve in the map looked good to start. it was the fuel that was the problem. so we started there. theres still plenty work to be done. i certainly can feel the power gains, and my MPG has alreaday increased noticably. cant wait to fill it and see what im really getting for mileage.
