is it possible for me to splice the wires going to the rad. fans and run a switch off of them? so that i can control them as i want?

Why, of course. No ECU monitoring of fan operation, just starting and stopping in relation to coolant temp and A/C compressor switch operation.

I did it. Can't remember the colors of the wires and stuff though. Two of the wires are hot. I cut both of them and took out the fuses FIRST. Then I ran a hot wire from a distr. block I have under the hood inside the car. Hook that hot wire to a switch and then run the other end to the two hot wires that went to the fan. Make sure that you tape the wires that went to the wiring harness. I will look and see about the colors tommorrow. I am also only using one fan. It has never overheated either.

The hot wire is brown with a white stripe...

my friend has one on his stang. but he's wanting to do the opposite of you and have it where its temp controled. trust me man...a manual fan switch is annoying.

the ideal would be that it comes on with the coolant and that you can turn it on whenever you want. My circuits is a bit rusty, but I'd imagine that you could just run a hot wire from the battery (assuming the fan runs off of 12V) with a switch on the wire. Then you wouldn't even need to have the car on to run the fans. Dunno if this would damage the stock circuitry (relays or whatnot).

i've found the solution! if you are like me, and have a/c and dont use it... then pull the fuse for the ac and the a/c switch will turn your fans on! and it also works real good for me because i dont have fan settings 1-3, so i dont have to turn the blower on! it was so easy too :D

The only drawback for that is that you have to leave the keys in the car. At the strip I can just turn mine on with a switch and walk away. With my keys.

the car has to be running too.... not perfect... but better than it could be :)
