: drag suspension
nsusammyeb 08-18-2009, 07:40 PM looking for some information on what the best set up for a straight line car is. Everything i find is for twisties.
Common sense tells me to keep as much weight on the front tires as possible, does this mean stiffening the hell out of the back so the weight doesn't transfer as easily to the rear or am i way off in my thinking??
evilempire18 08-19-2009, 10:43 AM i used KSports on my car with stock spring rate in front and 23k in the rear... but they also have 12,14 & 18k... you could go with cheaper kSports but when you order them call KSport and instruct them on how you want the coilovers put together.
nsusammyeb 08-19-2009, 04:47 PM what is stock spring rate on our cars??
how's your car handle?? launch and top end?
evilempire18 08-19-2009, 05:45 PM not too sure on stock spring rates for our cars, but what i ment was KSports stock spring rates on the from is 4k and that works out very good, but pending on the power and tq that your making is what you want them to build to suit the back
nsusammyeb 08-19-2009, 07:47 PM anyone know a cheaper route?? Dropping 1k on suspension is not what i'm looking for...not yet.
nismo94tuner 08-19-2009, 10:27 PM Your cheaper alternative might just be a set of KYB AGX struts. Then slap a set of ground control coilovers with some stiff springs. I think I have seen a guy run a 400 in the front and 800lb spring in the rear.
AaroNX 08-20-2009, 12:02 AM I've got the cheapest setup you can get I think lol. Basic KYB GR2 struts, and suspension techniques springs. My rear springs are cut a little cause the car sat high as hell in the back. At the same time I've got some bump stops on my rear struts so that the rear can only squat about half an inch before it bottoms out.
I pull 1.7 60fts every time SPINNING 22" MT slicks.

Suspension:
Agx adjustables
Road magnet springs
New oem outer tie rods
Traction Bars
I set my struts, when im on the track to 1 up front and 10 rear. Ill be testing the setup in a few weeks when the car is done
evilempire18 08-20-2009, 03:29 PM if you want to go fast you got to pay the price bro... GC& KYB Combo is what? $800? still to worry about camber adjustments? another $200 for camber plates? $1000.00 total with everything mix match!

i hear you but there's a time for that and it's not right now...haha. Wedding has got me strapped. And i know there's always an alternative, i've got half my shit off ebay and used and i'm still pretty fast for my setup...

Where'd you get the traction bars?? Let me know how the set up works out.
evilempire18 08-20-2009, 06:34 PM well if it makes you feel better i ran 11.40 with KYB GR-2 and Bull S**t springs on 400hp... lol

honestly....hell yea it makes me feel better...haha. Just looking for a little more traction from the hole. Not a sick suspension set up.
Sneakyowner 08-30-2009, 10:55 PM Get some of those suspension stiffening blocks for the rear so it is super stiff and doesnt squat. Then get some adjustable coil overs for the front.

Sorry I didn't see that earlier. We only have 1/8th mile tracks here, my best so far is a 7.8.

where'd you find these blocks sneaky?
dxpxe 09-06-2009, 01:30 PM any auto parts store SHOULD have them. they are kinda a cheap way out of fixing or upgrading your suspension especially when towing.
they are the rear spring insterts usually meant for trucks
JGG8891 09-06-2009, 09:47 PM I bought some ebay coilovers, installed the front coilovers in the rear. Left the front suspension stock. When I go to the track I jack up the rear. The high rear end+the high spring rate equal no squat. Ride is a little bouncy in the G20, but it helped at the track.
nsusammyeb 09-06-2009, 10:01 PM nice ideas guys thank you
compleckz 09-12-2009, 04:20 PM best bet. Get the part number for agx's front and rear(get b13 fronts, have more travel) and google for cheapest price. Then call ground control to order a set of coil overs, then tell them you want the stiffest rate out back while keeping the 2.5 inch ID and 6" tall spring. and then have them jump up the fronts from 350 to around 650-800
i am currently running b13 agx's up front with GC 650lbs ERS coils, 1200lb coils, overkill solid mounts, with agx's out back on my b14. Have not tested the set up yet as to the car is not running. I will be getting front Overkill mounts soon as well
