I wanted to swap my 98 ecu in my sentra for a 97 will anything not work?...cruise control?......do I need to look for anything special in the 97 ecu except for fed emmisions and a MT....?

After you do all that check the TPS and be sure it reads .5 volts at idle and 4V + at WOT. Mine did not and I had to remove the three wire plug from the charcoal canister (by the drivers rear wheel) and disconnect the Boost sensor (on the firewall).
