I have a 97 se-r and its rev limit is set to 7100rpms, I have a 94 g20 ecu on the way and was wondering if shifting my car at 7500 rpms would hurt it at all.. I really dont want to over rev the motor I just want to make sure it can handle revving that high (its mostly stock with a wai and a 91 intake cam) any help would be great thanks.

you are fine up to 7500 rpm, after 7250 TQ/HP starts dropping anyway so it is unecessary to take it that high.

i agree, although u have a 91 intake cam, power still dies considerably past 7200.

so if I accidently bounce it off the rev limiter once in a while im not gonna have to pick up the pieces of my motor right? Im not worried about it not making power up there I just want to make sure when I let my g/f drive and she accidently hits the rev limit (like she has done once or twice before) my motor doesnt fly apart.

The JWT rev limiter is at 7800rpm. You can hit the limiter, and not worry about messing it up. Just don't make a habit out of it.

i let my buddy drive my classic and this Fool was shifting at close to 8000 rpm (which i have the ecu so most likely it was kicking him back at 7800 making a high pitched vibrating noise) at least 3 times  , he got a speeding ticket out of it , + he will not be driving my se-r again.
