So I've always wanted to do this but I was wondering if anyone has ever imported a car yet? I'm a noob yes and another on of those guys that wants a JDM import but I just wanna know if anyone has ever done it and how bad was it? Price wise. You gotta buy the car, pay for the shipment, pay for the place to let the car sit there, pay to take the car, pay for registeration which is hard since it's imported, register the car, smog the car and etc.

I want a 180SX and if possible, the latest batch, 1998. Anyone know the rules for it? I mean, the 180sx has been imported before, + it's similar to 240SX so paperwork for the legalization in CA shouldn't be too big of a problem right? Engine yes but if I put in a KA instead then it should be legal. So any thoughts and tips and info you can hit me up with?

talk to all kinds of different logistics businesses. Youd be surprised who does this kinds of stuff (especially n your own back yard {long beach}) shit, go hang out at the ports and talk to some companies, I bet they could arrange getting you a car for next to nothing man and you could pick it up right there in LBC.
