I have an almost stock SE-R with an SR20DE. I don't plan to turbo this car, what I'm interested in is a piggyback to get some better fuel economy (right now it's really rich) & a little bit of tuning to maximize the performance I do have.

Which (been considering Apexi or GReddy) unit would be best for this? I plan on getting a boomslang adapter if I can. Also, the boomslang site only lists DET compatibility, is there a difference in the ECU harness/pinouts or can I use one listed for a DET on my DE? Will they both work with stock (or oem replacement) O2 sensor? Would any of them affect my stock gauges?

The logging is nice but not a killer feature. I plan to stay with MAF. I don't want to go full standalone (no need - daily driver). I've been looking at an SAFC 1 or II or a GReddy blue or ultimate. I've been thinking the SAFC II with the harness would be worth it for the money but I'm looking to see if anyone has a reason to go with a different one.

Thanks for the advice.

Are the wiring harness/ECU plugs the same for SR20DE & DET? Boomslang doesn't know.
