: BB ECU...with SR20DE with BB turbo setup
Blue93G20 09-12-2002, 05:18 AM Is it possible to use a BB ecu with an sr20de with the BB turbo kit put onto the motor, what kind of wiring would be invovled and would this work on my car a 93 G20. I was just wondering because a JWT is too long a wait.
SR20RACER 09-21-2002, 02:15 PM I'm not sure about your G20, but I am getting ready to run a BB ECU on my 94 SE-R w/ a turbo bolted onto it. I have resarched it and there should be no problems. (JGY and Andreas Miko have both told me this. The only thing is I have heard it has like a 109 spped limiter.:(
Hector Firpo 09-21-2002, 02:33 PM You can use the BB ecu but you will have to get the bb maf too.
SR20RACER 09-21-2002, 02:37 PM Unless JGY and Andeas Miko are both wrong you wont have to change the MAF. Do you have the BB ECU on your car Hector???
Hector Firpo 09-21-2002, 02:48 PM I bought an U13 BB, and I tried using the BB ecu with the usdm maf, and the car would'nt idle rigth it was too rich and missing.
The I tried the bb maf that came with the engine and everything worked perfect. After that I sold the BB ecu and maf combo because I had a JWT ecu, I just wanted to verify that the BB ecu was working. That's my expirience.

No, not true the JDM BB MAF and B13 USDM MAFS are the same and have the same part number in some cases. I believe the B13 MAF was changed and recalibrated and probably got a new part number. I know of atleast 2 people using a BB ECU with a 22680-53J00 USDM MAF and have no problems. The only MAFs that can read more horsepower in stock form is the GTi-R and Avenir MAFs.

Thats because it is a U13 ECU. You can use MAF 22680-53J00 with the U12 BB ECU because it is the same as the B13 MAF unless you have an SAFC you can use them all.

I guess It shoulded read like this:
You can use the U13 BB ecu part #23710-1E010 but you will have to get the U13 bb maf too.
Everybody should be happy now. :D
Blue93G20 09-25-2002, 03:06 PM It sounds like most of you guys have dets, i'm planning on using a det kit on my sr20de in my g20 and will it work. Plus is there any way to cut the speed limiter that sucks at 109 i've pined my g20 way past were it stops reading at 130. I might pick up the ecu and a SAFC so i could get either ecu correct be it U13 or U12. thanks...
Crono1321 09-25-2002, 03:10 PM Why are you wanting to use this ecu instead of just getting a JWT one? The only reason i can think of is price, which by all means is a good one!

charlie2020 09-25-2002, 04:56 PM Why do you even bother with BB ECU or JWT ECU just use the stock one and then if you like buy an SAFC so your not running so rich. Simple as that!
Blue93G20 09-26-2002, 03:48 PM The only reason why i was going to get a BB ecu was to avoid buying the JWT one which is pretty expensive, why would i buy that when i could buy a bb one and make that work and put a SAFC on it for the same price as getting just the JWT ecu. Also the only reason why i won't use my stock ecu is first i heard that an SAFC will not correct the fuel curve enough to make the car run well and second if it will it will pretty much be maxed out and when i upgrade to bigger injectors it won't have enough room to deal with that fuel increase....

DOES anybody have the part number so when i start looking for a u13 maf i want to have the right one.
so it is okay to run a u13 automatic ecu if you have the u13 maf as well?
will i still need to buy a u13 maf if i get a safc?
would it even matter if i run a u13 motor with a u12 ecu? because i think i will have a better chance of getting a a u12 ecu than a u13 maf.
Crono1321 08-27-2003, 01:30 PM Holy old post!

LONEWOLF 08-27-2003, 01:51 PM the issue was never resolved so that it why it was revived.

I just talked with Clark, and confirmed this.
If you run the U12 BB ECU, you need a 22680-53J00 MAF which comes in the U12 Bluebird, and 91-94 SE-R.
If you run the U13 BB ECU, you need a 22680-54C00 or 54C01 (newer) MAF. These two MAF's are NOT found on the 91-94 SE-R, they are JDM maf's.
LONEWOLF 09-12-2003, 06:17 AM I WILL confirm this Andreas Miko is sending me one now i will keep you posted on the results
so far i am using a 300zx single turbo o2 sensor
u13 auto computer
and hopefully 22680-54C00 maf
i am using a multichecker and i will tell you the results
NiceGuy 09-12-2003, 09:17 AM That should work fine.
