I have called US Freightways and Yellow Freight to get a quote of shipping an engine. I estimated the weight at 350lbs (which is probably a little High) and guessed that the class is 50 (have not clue). All the quotes were automated but the 50 class was the least expensive I found. Both quoted me over $400. I had an engine shipped to it and me cost a lot less thru Consolidated Freight. They have gone Bankrupt. Any suggestions. Anything over $150 just isn't going to work.

Find someone with an account with a freight company. We ship crane booms and things and get upwards of 40-50% discounted for being a regular customer.

Yep if you know someone with an active account you can get a pallet rate. Like from Mass to Georgia is like 75 bucks. Weight doesn't matter.
