: Took me VE to the track tonight...
nismo94tuner 09-10-2009, 03:17 AM (Wow, just realized the typo in the title. Kinda late. Off to bed lol.)
Decided to take my car up to Lebanon Valley Dragway and see how the car does. Overall i'm pretty happy but track conditions sucked. I kept getting sent to the left lane and every damn car was spinning bad. Here are some quick times.
92 SE-R minor weight reduction
SR20VE motor
N1 cams
SSAC 2.5'' header
3'' test pipe
2.5'' crushbent cat-back
3'' intake
N60 MAF
Calum basic
First pass on street tires:
60'........2.137
1/4.......13.946
MPH......99.42
Second pass on BFG 16psi (50% life with shitty burnout)
60'........2.142
1/4.......13.844
MPH......99.05
3rd pass on BFG 12psi another shitty burnout and launch
60'........2.345
1/4.......13.987
MPH......98.98
I'm not upset since at least 4 out of the 5 passes were consistent 13.8-13.9's. I was launching around 6,500 or so. Spun part way through first. on the 3rd pass I launched at 5,500 or so and it bogged down then took off. Also let off early on that damn run. I was hoping to pull a 1.9 60' and try to get a 13.5 out of it but oh well. Not bad I guess for a quick slapped together setup. Time for pulleys, lightweight flywheel, 3'' exhaust, and a real tune. Videos coming soon!:biggthump
Zuijyn 09-10-2009, 04:18 AM you have any dyno stats atm? nice times
TheSnail 09-10-2009, 01:31 PM Nice times. I went with mine (similar mods) for the first time and could not break 13's though I was trapping 101. You have a great 60' for street tires. My average 60' was 3.045 lol. Keep up the good work :biggthump
nismo94tuner 09-10-2009, 03:11 PM Lol. I was hoping to see some trap speeds of 101 or so. This car has never seen the dyno yet. I think I'm just going to run off this base map for now and get her tuned once the bottom end is built. What do you guys usually shift at?
TheSnail 09-10-2009, 07:02 PM Im shifting at 8500rpm, than bouncing off the 8500rpm limit in 3rd going through the finishline. Next time, I think I will shift from 3rd to 4th at 8300ish and pick up some more mph.
tommy boy 09-10-2009, 10:40 PM sick times... what are u useing for mounts ??
nismo94tuner 09-10-2009, 11:42 PM I just have some old beat up ES inserts for the front and rear motor mounts. Using Progress 1 piece coilovers as suspension. Wheelhop was very minimal when using the street tires compared to other cars I saw running.
I have no rev limiter so I gotta make sure I have the car in gear. Got my friends camera so uploading some videos now.:)

STRATTON 09-12-2009, 12:22 AM bah. what do you do when you a turbo car rolls along side you on the highway ;p.
go back to turbo bro !
stratton.
nismo94tuner 09-12-2009, 12:48 AM No need for turbo when you have nitrous.;) I am still in 3rd while the turbo guys have to shift.
Come on Strat, you know you want a sr23ve!
compleckz 09-12-2009, 04:12 PM how about both VE+turbo, sounds even better
STRATTON 09-12-2009, 04:33 PM chriscar is building a ve+t. cant wait to take a ride in it when its done !
stratton.
Dabrits 09-12-2009, 04:39 PM nicely done
dxpxe 09-13-2009, 02:27 PM i bet u say PSHHHHH between every shift to make yourself feel better
nismo94tuner 09-13-2009, 02:43 PM LOL. Nope. The car cracks so loud I can't hear myself think.
However the car will be receiving some new additions soon for the turbo guys. I know it has to hurt feelings when my car says ALL MOTOR and i'm ahead.:eek2:
Here is another video from the track. Sorry Tom, I had to post it. I'll upload the video when you had me a little nervous lol.

dxpxe 09-13-2009, 07:59 PM u should try in my nittos, they are lower profile so u can run out the gears faster and get into 4th or a taller slick to get u outa the hole with like a 1.7 and be able to run through third a little lower of a rpm to still be in your power band.
get a nice 13 flat outa her
damn Bes that car sounds good and pulllls !!

Thats where I was unsure. I don't know if I should try a 22'' slick or try something like a 23 or 24.5. The car will be juiced soon so its hard to decide. Anyone have any other input? I would love a 13 flat out of her.:)
damn Bes that car sounds good and pulllls !!
Thanks bro! I definately recommend a VE to anyone. Car is fun as shit and its the best not having to worry of blowing off a intercooler pipe or other tedious small BS that comes with a turbo car.:biggthump

Its all good. At least you cant see the E.T. lol To anyone else making their first pass at a track: no, just dumping the clutch will not get you out of the hole. Its great for a 3 second 60' though:rofl:
