You can put your own kit together for a lot less money.
You will need a tank, line, switch to activate it, spray bar to fit your intercooler, and the solenoid.

yeah you could build it with parts from Summit racing or JEGS, its really easy.

actually you can get the kit for $350 from www.overboost.com/obs
and it will cost you almost as much to build your own and it still wont cool it effectivley, the NX kit has a bar with holes that can spray all along the IC but you will only have 1 nozzle and it will be less effective.

Bottle $120
bottle nut addapter $12
lines $50
fittings $10
solenoid $70
electrics $30

total $292

no i do not work for NX

I have the nx kit but its not on my car yet we played with it here at the shop, to see how it sprayed but didn't get around to putting it on. $350 is a good deal my dealer cost is only $20 under that.

O.k. if i get this right, you are spraying you intrercooler with nitrous. Thus in return flooding you engine bay with nitrous. Dosent that soud a little dangerous. My intake, on F-max set up is right behind the radiator, right behind the intercooler.
Now i know you can use co2 but will it be as effevtive?

It will still be just as cold. And safer.

this may be a stupid question but, do you hit the button when you're staging or what?

You can hit it whenever you want I guess... it's designed to cool your intercooler, so whenever it gets "hot" spray it

c02 is way cheaper and you spray it before you do your burn out so it basicly frezzes your intercooler and the air going through it is very cold .Works great or you can have a budy spray co2 on it before you run

so is any nitrous actually going into the intake or engine?

no!!!!

some people say the "extra nitrous" can go through to the intake and the engine will benefit from that.. but Id have to call BS untill its proven..

since im a really cheep ass, i just use those compressed air cans for cleaning computers and such and turn that sucker up side down and spray a big glob of ice on the intercooler just befor i have to line up at the track.

for one thing, this thread is all about CO2, not nitrous....for another thing...if you're spraying ON the IC, how would you expect any nitrous to get in the engine, be there no boost leaks?
