: Last night at the track

Well, after tearing out my hair all night trying to figure out what
the hell was wrong with my car, I finally made a semi-clean pass last
night to end it and ran a 13.2@103.5 with a 1.93 60' time. I think my
147,000 mile stock suspension has had it. I can't seem to get better
than 1.9's.

The temperature at the track was 100+. It was ridiculous. My first
run was a 13.8@97 or 98 with a 2.1 60' time. Luckily I was running
C16 which probably saved my motor. My next 3 runs, I proceeded to
run high 15's and low 16's at 50ish MPH because I had to let off and
brake halfway down the track. First and second gear would go
normally, and then it would stutter and I could see the boost
dropping and dropping. WTF! At first, I thought I was detonating
because of the heat. So I pulled over and started checking my
plugs. I borrowed a timing gun and checked my timing which was at
15. Waited till it was cooler, and figured it would be ok. Made
another pass and same thing happened. CRAP! After some thinking and
asking STeve-O what blowing intercooler couplers feels like, since he
is the expert at doing that, I realized one of my couplers was half
off my piping. DAMNIT. I tightened everything nice and good and did
the 13.2 run.

Notables of the night. The lady putting on the dial ins looked at my
car for 5 minutes with a confused look on her face when I asked for a
13.3 dial in. She thought I was stupid.

Domestic guys scratching their heads, hey, that's the car that ran a
13.2.

Two 3rd Gen RX-7's running 14.7's. One had sparkly glittery paint.

Typical DSM owners. One guy claimed he had a T25 in his first gen
DSM and that 2G owners had T26's. Another with a GS-T and a 16G
turbo running 20 PSI of boost on stock injectors was running 15.0's.
NICE!

All in all, a crappy night. I was very disappointed. It was too
damn hot and the intercooler coupler blowing off is retarded. I had
checked every other coupler EXCEPT that one because it was a bitch to
get to. Monkey point for me. Oh well, I was the fastest import
there.

I wouldn't say typical! Nice run though. What setup are you running again? Slicks?

Umm...yes, TYPICAL. I'm sorry, but you don't know enough DSM owners if you don't realize that the MAJORITY don't know jack shit. I am friends with some that DO know their stuff, and even they admit there are a bunch of DSM owners out there that don't know jack. www.dsmtalk.com Read their forums. Lots of monkeyness flying around there.

Admit it, how many DSM's do you see driving around with BOV and exhaust thinking they are the fastest car on the road?

I'm running a 9.5:1 compression motor with the bluebird T25 turbo parts. Yes, on 22x8x15 slicks.

Yeah, there's a lot more east coast DSM guys that are fast. Don't get me wrong, I have a huge amount of respect for fast DSM guys, but the vast majority do some pretty retarded stuff. Pulling the wastegate line for example for more boost is very common.

My problem is when i get my running right i have to spank them all. That is going to be hard. They are the fastest imports there.I am going to tell them all to pull there waste gate line:D booooom
