OK. I replaced the alternator today because the battery and brake light stayed on constantly. Didn't do a damn thing.

Here are the other symptons:

Turn car off. Lose clock and radio memory. No dash lights, interior lights, door dinger, nothing.

Turn car to accessories and the clock light turns on. That is it. Nothing else works.

Turn car on. Same thing until I rev past 3000, then all the lights work, the tach and speedo start to work, and the damn battery and brake lights stay on.

Swapped battery with new one to test. Same thing. Nothing changed.

By the way, my Viper 300 alarm works fine, the door locks and windows work fine and all exterior lights work fine. WTF?

I am pissed, tired, frustrated and ready to give up after spending $180 for the alternator and trouble shooting everything I can. Gonna drop off to dealer if no results.

Any ideas? ANY? PLEASE? Desperately need help!

OH and the battery reads around 12.3 or less with car off and no more than 12.4 with car on. The alternator appears to be running at 15.4-16.0 Volts. Does not seem right????

Check the charging voltage at the alternator output post and compare w/ the reading at the pos. battery terminal.
If you have a difference check the wiring between the 2, and all fusible links and fuses.
When frustrated walk away for a few.:D

Well, here is where dumb ass walks in...

I checked the fusible links yesterday, or so I thought. So I exhaust all possible solutions and end up buying the alternator, installing it and nothing! So I talk to my father-in-law (ex mechanic) and he stated they had similiar problems with a Chevy Nova (Toyota Corrolla) and they ended up finding out the fusible link was indeed blwn. So I went out there and looked at them again one by one. The damn 75A Battery fusible link was blown.

A fukn' fusible link!!! Now I am out $180 dollars. I am going to talk to the parts store and see if they can atleast take the new one back for a restocking fee and I'll put the old one back in. 15% of $180 is better than $180.

ACK!
