: which injectors for a 300whp sr20det?
alex37211 09-22-2009, 12:52 PM I'm new to turbos and Nissans. Bare with me.
I'm aiming for 300hp at the wheels on my redtop sr20det.
I have a gt2871r turbo. (the .86 model, not the .63) with an hks adjustable wastegate and 3" megan downpipe. Plus I have a greddy intake mani.
I'm getting a walbro 255 pump and 3" exhaust.
From what I've gathered, I will need 550cc injectors. Right?
What less expensive options are there for me?
What do most people use? I want reliability but don't necessarily have to have the best thing out there. Are there any stock injectors that will work?
In other words, what's my best bang for the buck?
Thanks.

nismo chris 09-24-2009, 12:06 AM go with some 440's run 16psi and call it a day well after a tune that is lol
iamhappy46 09-24-2009, 03:51 AM 370cc's with a 4 bar tune ;) Better fuel atomisation and more than enough fuel flow for that power output ;)
alex37211 09-29-2009, 11:31 AM Somebody said I could use subaru 440's. Is it true?
iamhappy46 10-06-2009, 08:16 AM Only the side feed STi injectors from an 05 ;)
pabloyoc 10-06-2009, 01:04 PM IŽll use 550......works great!!!
Andrew(nj) 10-06-2009, 02:19 PM Go w/ 740's nismo and boost 18psi
iamhappy46 10-07-2009, 06:48 AM Go w/ 740's nismo and boost 18psi
Overkill, whats the use of 60% duty cycle and mild overfuelling at idle with injector dead times and ridiculously small K values
Bonesmugglar 10-07-2009, 10:10 AM why would u use a 2871r for 300 hp with a 86 housing then????? i have that and 300 hp is about 13 psi on that turbo and its laggy as shit , go with a smaller turbo and run 555cc injectors, 370 are way to small
2.2lvvlb13 10-07-2009, 10:32 AM the subaru injectors will make 300hp at 3 bar without being maxed out. can make 400hp at 4bar. also u should go with a t28.
iamhappy46 10-07-2009, 11:21 AM Read the OP, he already has the turbo. They are not laggy if the tune is done correctly, it is possible to have full boost below 4000rpm and often by 3600rpm.
370 inj's at 4 bar flow a little more than a 444cc inj at 3 bar and on a conservative tune, the 370's at 4 bar are only hitting around 78% duty cycle. Lean the tune out for max power and your hitting around 75% duty cycle. Saves buying new injectors if you can just up the base fuel pressure on the stock injectors!
As per the link from post 2, the whp outputs listed are conservative ;)
BrendanT4det 10-07-2009, 01:24 PM Get 555's at 4 bar or 740's at 3.
Im running 555's at stock pressure and running almost 80% with a T25! im also buying a gt2871r. I personally think that thread about injectors and WHP output is not acurate.
iamhappy46 10-08-2009, 02:25 AM A single 440cc injector is good for 85Hp@flywheel with 80% duty cycle, I can happily link the formula for fuel volume if required ;) Now since the USA have around 15% drivetrain loss, rather than the AUS/NZ 25%~30% drivetrain loss, you will find that the injector and whp thread is actually really accurate.
Our workshop GTiR has Tomei 600cc top feeds, a GT2871R and 18psi boost with 211kw@all four wheels and duty cycle is never above 70% unless the boost scramble button is hit for 22psi ;)
LikeTheMovies 10-08-2009, 03:35 AM It's correct because the injectors rated on that thread at at 100% duty cycle...
Go with 550's or 740's. 740s will not be overkill.
You can get STI Injectors from a 04-05 STI yellow sidefeed for about $200 around here. change the clips and tune and go.
B14 Se-Rious 10-10-2009, 06:34 PM 740s are definetly overkill. 550s are a good choice.
bobbyisking 10-12-2009, 01:16 AM my sti yellow injectors are still for sale.
Yellow4g63 10-12-2009, 03:10 AM I'm from planet low duty cycle anyone else from there?
dmp316 10-12-2009, 01:09 PM go with some 440's run 16psi and call it a day well after a tune that is lol
x2 :biggthump
alex37211 you just need some Pulsar GTi-R 444cc injectors and or run stock injectors from a S15 DET
UNISA JECS 10-12-2009, 01:31 PM I'm from planet low duty cycle anyone else from there?
I run 1500cc/min side feeds on a 140whp P11 and my duty cycle is -85% and my injector pulsewidth is back to the future.
