I finally got around to replacing my exhaust piping. 2.25" inch from the cat to the Borla muffler with Thrush glasspack #24201 (2.25" also).

Here is a shot comparing the two resonators. The stock calsonic unit is actually a nice perforated core, just like the Thrush. But, its not quite as long as the Thrush.

Here is where the Thrush goes right into the cat. There's a pretty hefty weld bead to get the 2.25" Thrush into the 2.5" cat opening, but my boy did a good job.

Here, I had the old flange chopped off of the Borla axle-back because it constricts down to the old 1 7/8th" of the stock piping and welded the new 2.25" right to the Borla. Nice weld bead...still red hot!

Here's a shot of the crush bend...its not TOO bad

And finally, everything all ready to go!

No more blatty raspy ricey noise. Its back to normal now...just a smooth, mellow, deep note under load. Completely stock sounding inside the car with the windows up, with a hint of exhaust tone. Nice. Very nice. :D
