im assuming this has got to be some kind of electrical issue? id see any other reason this would happen? am i missing something? i notice it seems to happen more noticably under load, than in neutral? under normal acceleration at like 2-3k im good but when it gets around 4-5 the higher the r's go the lower the temp gauge reads, u get to 5500, the temp gauge is slammed to cold, let off the gas, and it goes back to normal! i need help from a tech!...also i severely doubt this is related, but 2 days ago the blower motor resister went, so the blower only works on the highest setting... Thank you-Butcher

on the passenger side of the engine just under the intake manifold are a few sensors one is the red temp sensor and right next to that is a single wire plug that just connects to a tab.

remove the wire and you should be able to feel the tab and that it is loose. if this is the case then take a drift or... a foot long extension and give the rivet holding the tab a solid tap witha lite hammer, not to hard its just a rivit but enough to re-seat it.

Same exact thing was happening to mine since i had it, found out it was my temp sensor connector loose, dont bother fixing, so cheap to just replace it yourself, works great and no more reving and temp going down lol good luck!!!
