so im living in chicago right now where my car is exempt from emissions. I may be moving to atlanta soon, and I found out that my car will no longer be exempt. So I was wondering how do you turbo guys in georgia pass emissions??? can I just throw a Cat on it and be good?????????

Search is your friend, which is why you don't see any responses, look around. There are already more emissions threads than I can count here.

Where in GA? There are many counties away from metro Atlanta that do not require emissions. OBD II cars go strictly by a hook up to the OBD port. Earlier cars must run on a set of rollers with a measure of tail pipe emissions.

Ive searched and all I have found is= make sure the car has a cat, retard the timing, pour alcohol in the tank, and take a nice long ride around georgia 400 before you get tested. not saying thats a bad start but, being that my motor is a JDM DET theres no EGR. and last time I checked GA tested NoX. so I was thinking maybe I would have to use a USDM intake manifold or switch over a bunch of USDM stuff to make it pass

If you have something to tune with you can pass. My friend got his rb25 s13 to pass idle only because he slammed his car.

haha thats bad ass. all I have for "tuning" is SAFC and an AEM wideband. unfortunatetly I only have ground control coilovers, so its not gonna slam like a 240 :(. but is there a way to set the AFC so it can pass. like going with a more conservaive tune
