I am planning on putting a t25 on my stock de so i have been searching and reading up and slowly getting all the parts. I came across two different drill bit sizes people say to use to drill the hole for the oil lines. One was 23/32" one 45/64" obviously they are extremely close in size so i was just wondering which one i should get or any other tips you guys have for me (besides use the search button:squint:)

Thanks guys:D

I used the 23/32, use it
after I blew up my DET, I tapped the DE block and took the oil return fitting from the DET block, and it fit perfectly into the new hole I drilled and tapped in the DE block.

basically, here is what you need:
1) 23/32" drill bit
2) 1/2-14NPT Tap
3) 1/2 NPT hose fitting

And I've got a really nice 1/2 NPT Hose fitting for sale ;)
Harbor freight for the tap kit
drill bit I had to get from a local Grainger.. that was for some reason hard to find..

I used a 3/4" bit and a 1/2 npt tap, worked just fine.

yep 45/64

some ppl use the 23/32 but the npt fitting is taperd so the 45/64 would be the best go to napa and get this fitting heres a pic with the part#

the GFD kit is for the oil feed on the back of the motor, you dont need to tap that one!!just the oil drain in the front is what you have to tapp!!GL

Do yourself a favor, use some sort of oil on the tap. Cutting threads into allum. is tricky. It tends to ball up instead of cut. Make small thread cuts, and then reverse cleaning the tap with a brush, do not apply excess pressure or you will break it off, or crack the block.

Tap cutting oil is best, or a heavy weight motor oil (30-50W) or abouts.

It can be drilled from inside or outside the block. Careful not to get shavings into rotating area. You need to remove both oil pans to clean out shavings(do not use compressed air!) use a vacuum and a brush.

Mental note - line drill bit up at angle to match the block angle. Shavings stick well to grease! Use it on your bit and clean it often to minimize shaving disaster.

Good luck
