well me and natural81 were installing his pacesetter header tonight had everything off and had the header on inabout 30-45 minutes, as i got to get the egr pipe in i find it a pita to put back in!
after haggeling with it for maybe an hour or more we gave up for the day. i even unbolted it from the rear near the tb and still could not get it to thread, it wasnt even stripped either.
we test fitted the aiv piping in the header to see if it was indeed stripped and it wasnt
ive done one other pacesetter header install before this on jeromes 91 nx and that took nothing more than 1-1.5 hours no problems whatsoever! natural81 also has a 91 nx
anyone else ever had this problem? and if so how did you rig it to finally thread in?all i can say is im pissed about it:mad:

Well I have the Hot shot but when I had my USDM motor I had to use something( I think a long socket extension) to pry it towards the header and then thread it. Also try some liquid wrench or something of that nature. It might help.

I had the same problem. You have to screw the EGR tube in the header while the header is still loose from the head. Then you can shift and align it to rescrew the rear of the EGR pipe, Then tighten the header.

That would work But it has to be lined up with the studs first. Or else it won't clear them.

It took me hours to get mine threaded on- what a pain in the ass. I eventually had someone else hold the header as far away from the head as possible and I was able to get the damn thing threaded that way. Just keep trying.

lmao thats what we did! the first header i actually installed was no problem went in perfect as for threading it in prior to the header being thru the studs we tried that the ngle doesnt work, even with the whole egr unbolted and free'd up. if we removed everything completely in the way to take the egr piping out then it would be easy as hell but i dont feel like taking tb stuff off and whatnot:( we will try another day.
well as camppain said that dam tube is just hanging there. i was wondering if anyone pluged it with something else. its to much of a pain to install that dam thing, plus i thought there was going to be a huge exhuast leak there but everything seems normal, o well, all i am waiting for now is that high temp paint to finish burning off, which i thought was going to hold.:(
