I have an nx2000. Me and buddies dropped u13 sr20det. We changed some of the gasket and used some parts from my old engine. It runs good but it smokes when I'm flooring(black) or while stopping on the light then move it smokes(blue). so can you guys help me? My buddy said i have to buy oil catch can it helps.... so help me guys:confused:

youre definitly burning oil it sounds like. Did you do a leak down test when you acquired the engine or a compression test when you installed it? Either one will tell you if the rings are shot, which is probably the case.

yeah i checked nothing under the car.how can i change that rings?

The black smoke when flooring it is due to excessive fuel (too rich mixture). The blue smoke... as stated, is oil. IDK if a catch can will be all that helpful, but you could use the one from the old motor just to try it out. If it is the piston rings, that involves lifting the head and pulling both oil pans to access the pistons.

if your running way rich you could be washing the rings which will cause both your smoke problems. you may wanna check your A/F's first and lean it out if you have too. if this is the case your gonna mess your motor up if you keep driving it.

did you swap a ECU ??? please tell me you are not on the stock ECU

run some "seafoam" and if it still smokes after that its most likly your rings!! check A/F ratio like WB said and make some little tweaks but if your still smokin your most likly F'D!! GL bro!!

and do a leak down or comp. test too!! harbor freight sells them for 39.99!!

Okay i drove my car today with no smoking. It is weard but i don know. My car running on U13 ECU. I used old school greddy BOV. Maybe my bov messed up. When i screw to hard it runs fine but idle weard. If i screw to soft idle fine but i cant floor even. So i ordered on new bov. We will see... Thanks again guys!!!!
