just placed an order on pttuning.com for my b&m shifter. next upgrade is my pullies. there were two; only crank, and crank w/water pump. how many folks here have each? i will most definetly get the crank on my next payday. but is it worth the waterpump?

also, should i change my waterpump itself when i install the pullies? i've got 67k miles on my car already.

next in order:
motovational coilover
new clutch w/ lighter flywheel

thanks.

Actually there are four pullies for the 2.0. The waterpump pulley provides the most gains out of any of the pullies.

Is it worth getting the 4 pulley set? Did you notice any diff compared to stock. What were your 1/4 times with the new set up?

I haven't put em on yet. I just got em yesterday. I probably won't put them on till next weekend. There is supposed to be alittle difference between using the 4. NOt much though. MOst people only get the 4 to have them all match. I got 4 brand new for $55 shipped so I got them.:D

I think the pulleys are good because you water pump stops working or something around 6k rpm. I got the two set up and I think the difference comes at the mid-higher rpm range. I got my car with them already on. But the other se-r I drove was crappier feeling without them. Both previous cars I had were modded with ur pullies and they made a nice difference.

The 4 pulley set isn't worth the price. The 2 pulley set frees up the most power.

you should reword that because the 4 set does make more power but they are a pain in the ass unless the motor is out of the car. but 4 only makes 2-3 more than 2 pulleys. every little bit adds up though.

thanks.

Thats pretty much up to you. My old engine had 174k on it when I pulled it. The water pump felt good and turned nicely. If you want to save in the future spend the extra bucks.

BTW. the 2 pulley set is really nice:)

i quote...
I highly advise against using an aftermarket pulley on the B15 SR20DE. If you look at the B15 crank pulley.. you will see that it's drilled out in sections.. to balanced out the rotating assembly. The 4 counterweight cranks aren't balanced like the 8 counterweight cranks are. You might not have problems for a year or two.. but I promise you that the engine's main bearings will suffer and you will have premature failure. The choice it yours... I highly advise against it though. But then again... what do I know?

more then few people have told me this. but i come to you, the origial se-r master gurus, for more help. i drive alot, 67k in two years, and i do not want to bust my crank in half. i love my car, and plan to keep it. especially that i see i can get 200k out of it.
many thanks.

Well I didn't know there was a difference in the B15's but I do know that the Honda guys have had that problem. It had something to do with their stock crank pulleys being what balanced it, and the UR pulleys were not. They said that it wouldn't hurt a car unless it got over 200hp at the wheels though.

Are you talking about Hondas or the SR20? Because I'm sure there are people running UR pullies that are putting down over 200whp.
