asked about the high port motor I'm selling from an NX2000. Right off the bat, he asks me if I wanted to buy his car (a 95 B14 SE-R) and put in the motor that I'm selling in it. He told me the motor was blown and asked if I would be willing to buy it off him for $500. I told him I only wanted to sell my motor and not deal with another car as I can't afford to have a project at the moment. He then told me that the car had a JDM turbo engine, so I asked him if it was from a gti-r. He seemed really clueless about the car, telling me that he bought the car "turboed" already. I asked him what kind of turbo? He responded with "m-something", m45? I forget, but he said the turbo is $150 in ebay. He then starts telling me about an ECU that came from a turbo, but he doesn't know what sr20 car it came from (it had 1 straight pin socket, instead of the 4 pin socket like the one installed in his car across the back or so he said). He then told me the car also needed a turbo exhaust system. I asked him how the car ran before and he said it ran 15 second 1/4 miles before the motor blew. He then asked if I wanted a straight trade for my motor in exchange for his turbo parts, but I told him no (assuming he fabricated his own and it's not a JDM DE-T after all). He also mentioned that his motor was running bad (not blown as he said before), but it had bad piston rings so the car sat for 3 years. The car came from his friend who he bought it off of who spent a few thousand dollars for the turbo (to run 15's LOL). He said the car has full interior with everything working besides a bad axle and the motor. I had a hard time understanding him as it seemed he could not answer my questions about the turbo, or at least not as informative as some guys respond on this forum. I assume they slapped on a turbo without any engine management, hence leading to his blown motor.
If I had the mechnical ability and the money, I would take over his project and haul the car for $500.
So my question, will a high port SR20 hook up to a B14 chassis?
I'm assuming some fabrication will have to be done for the wiring harness and the ECU, as well as the highport/lowport configuration.
I should search, but maybe someone could shed some light on this.
PM me if you want to talk to the guy (got his number), and you have more knowledgable questions than me so you can share with us about his answers, which confused me:rolleyes:
