can i activate the intake and the exhaust solenoids at the same time? will there be a negative effects? TIA.;)

Yes, You can!
Many people use this option. For example in order to release the second MSS channel for rev limitter.

And in many cases it is not even a compromise, but the ideal solution for settings

For my configuration, this option gave the maximum effect on the dyno

tnx bro. but as of now,i dont have a MSS to use as activator, planning to buy soon. for the meantime, can i use my external tach and use my shiftlight to activate both solenoids? ;)

you need any switcher to activate solenoids. Generally tachometer is only the instrument indicating data, rather than a means of switching

what is your tachometer, its brand?

auto meter tach. ;) how about the adjustable shiftlight?

Just remember that the solenoids get constant positive current and activate when the switching device feeds them ground. It doesn't matter which solenoid wires get ground -- just make sure that one from each solenoid gets 12V positive and the switching device completes the ground circuit with the other wire.

in that case, all i have to do is put a negative output either one of the two terminals of the solenoids?

Also, if you intend on running the solenoids off the tacho, you will need a diode protected relay wired in on pin 30/85, then a 12V source on 86 and solenoid +'ve on 87 then solenoid -'ve to earth ;)

Guys, how tachometer auto meter will activate the VVL, for me remains a mystery.
Through shiftlight? How accurate are these tachometers, and its voltage signal -
will there be enough for activation, is it appropriate to such savings?

I would still recommend to use the switcher from Greddy or MSD - any variant of those described in this forum, and shiftlayt leave for gear-shifting

when i first wired up my vvl switch (the summit switch) it didnt work, turns out i *** needed to switch the signal wire, no biggy.. but at the time i thought it was broke an i was gonna do the same thing your talkin about, usin the adjustable shift light as a switch.. but i didnt wanna ruin anything so i waited to get my new switch from summit, that which when i wired it up it didnt work either but after a little rewiring i got it workin.. the summit switch is a good switch, for a good price.. really simple to use also

Way back in 2004 I was using a shiftlight to run my VVL solenoids without any issues, way before the MSS or Greddy units were available. The shift light I had also had a 3 stage system(3 lights) so first two were VVL solenoids and the third light was set just before rev cut. The diode protected relay is the key, as the magnet in the relay causes voltage spikes which can kill the shift light electronics.

sir can you teach me how to activate my vvl thru my shiflight? or can you give me a diagram or step by step procedure? thanks in advance bro! :)
