Cut the vacuum line between the two "mushrooms" on the back of the intake manifold. Plug them with two screws. Done. On emmisions day, get a new hose, reconnect the two.

oh, so thats all you do to get rid of the whole egr stuff, is just plug up both holes connecting the egr and bpt???

and you say plug them up with SCREWS???

That's exactly what I did, screws and all. It solved all my bucking and idle problems. (That and I removed my AIV stuff)

Mostly just cleanung up the engine bay. May be going turbo, so, I'll need the room soon.

When you removed the AIV, did/do you have a JWT ecu? Or do you just allow it to run rich at idle? If you don't have an ecu, can you tell that it runs rich?

Thanks,

Josh

I was not aware that it would run rich w/ no AIV and the JWT ECU.

I still get 30mpg, last time I checked after the AIV removal. And I cant tell that I have any black smoke coming out the muffler.

Is there any other way to diagnose a rich mixture?

COuld be that since JWT programmed my ECU for 10:1, they assumed I wasn't using an EGR or AIV. I dunno.

it sounded like he meant itll run rich with no aiv, and NO jwt ecu.

which is what i'll be doing. but ill be getting an ecu hopefully by next semester

Sorry about the confusion. I did mean to ask if it ran rich w/o the JWT ecu. Also, I didn't look close enough to your sig. to read you had a JWT ecu. I thought I read somewhere that JWT removes the AIV function and w/o the JWT and w/ the AIV removed it runs rich. I could be wrong.

Well, normally, you'd have dibs. *but*...

I'm looking to get my dads 91 SE-R. It will be my NA daily driver, so my bolt-ons will go there.

All that is involved, though, would be the CAI, header, and Stromung mid-pipe; not much.

If that plan dont work out, Ill remember you...
