ive have tried swapping out ecus but it has the same problem. car runs a on starter fluid and shuts off as soon as its done. fuel pump is throwing gas.
what am i missing? a sensor maybe? is this a common problem?

well my mechanic was the one that checked . he used this tester thingy to test the injectors and the light didnt turn on so he said they werent getting any pulse. he said it might be my ecu but its not because i swapped my stock one back on and it does the same. im thinking its a sensor somewhere but i dont know which one

what car are you talking about first of all? if its a B13 OBD1 check the ECCS Relay if you are not getting any kind of current through the injector harness, if you are getting the current pulse then check the ohm in the injectors or injector malfunction. Good Luck!

im have a b14 obdII. does it have the same relay?

Check the CAS is plugged in properly ;) If the ECU is not getting a signal from it, it does not know when to fire the injectors :)

Where are the CAS and ECCS located on a B14?

Well today I got some starter fluid and bam it started right up, then died :( so I pulled the rail and my injectors aren't fireing, So I guess we are both in the same boat now.

not sure of the b14, but the b13 eccs relay is right above the ecu under the radio center section of the dash. also with the key in the on position (not started but on) you should see 12 volts on both injector wires. I would check that also.

please to correct me if I am wrong but I asking for them to check this because IIRC the injkectors work off a ground pulse. thus 12volts on both wires at rest.

K Iv messed with mine some more and found out that I have to put a 12 volt tester on the postive side of the battery and touch the injector harness with it, the car cranks but then the ECU shuts off. Without touching the injector harness with a hot current I have no power to the harness.

Power is supplied to the injectors from the ignition switch. The ground is pulsed by the ecu when it picks up signal from the CAS which is inside the distributor. Try switching out the distributor with a known good unit.

^^^agreed. i just opened the cap of my distributor and theres like mad corrosion and oil leakage. looks pretty bad. i think this may be the problem.

off to return that sensor and purchasing a distributor!

This CAS is the Crank angle sensor right? Is there a way to bypass the igniton and CAS?

What about the ECCS relay isn't it above the ECU? Im thinking I got a short somewhere.
