: What length coilover spring?

Posted this in the Chassis/Suspension section last week with no response, hoping to get more input here in the racing forum...

I'm searching for the cheapest way possible to get a decent spring rate under our 91 SE-R LeMons car. Right now I'm scouring craigslist for used coilover springs and am probably going to wind up cobbling something together using springs originally intended for other cars.

What length spring should I be looking for, for a 91 Sentra SE-R? I don't actually take delivery of the car for another week, so I don't have a car in front of me to measure and make my own conclusions.

Thanks

Depends on the rate.

Thanks.

Assume I'm running a "stiff street/soft race" spring, say in the 500# range, and have adjustable perches/collars.

It's a legitimate statement. The softer the rate, the longer the spring in most applications.

At ~500# I'd go for around a 7in free length. I beleive that's what's on the front of my NX. As you go higher in rate the free lengths available become shorter. I thenk the longest ERS spring available in 600# is 6 in.

330ish Front with blown AGXs (7")
300 Rear with blown stock shocks (6")

Stockish ride height.
