Can you confirm that you got my ecu? It's been 5 weeks since I mailed it. Do you have any idea when you'll be mailing it back? I'd like to start a second project, but I need something to drive.

I've tried. Like 20 times. Left messages and everything. I can't just let him keep my ecu like that. If he's just gonna sit there and hold it and not do anything I would have rather had erick212 take a look at it again. I would get it back within like 2 weeks.

I didn't sell you an ECU.

I know. I thought Ben explained everything to you?

Erick212 sold me a calum basic because I knew you wanted to spend time on your realtime ecus. I got the ecu and the car wasn't running right. Checked everything. Finally tried to pull codes cause the CEL was on and I couldn't. I think the light stayed solid red or something which means a bad ECU. Anyways, I borrowed Ben's realtime and threw a bin on there for my setup real quick and the car ran flawless. Ben told me he had talked to you about my ECU already so I mailed it to you... I guess if you don't want to look at it, erick212 would be obligated to.

No worries, I fixed it.

I don't mind fixing people's ECUs or whatever (I've fixed multiple Techtoms etc), but if I'm fixing something for free (and it wasn't something I sold obviously) I will shuffle your stuff to the bottom of the pile. I prioritise my todo list like so- existing customers, new customers, stuff I'm doing for favors. I do get to the each eventually, it just takes me a while.

I put 10 bucks in the package for new chips just in case that's what it was. I'm also willing to pay some more if that will get my ecu back quicker. What do you say to 50 bucks? I'm sure that would be some motivation.

Also, are you taking new orders? I have another car that needs a tune for a ve.

No worries, it's already shipped. Check the list thread, your name is there.

RT or basic? No on the RT, yes on the basic.

Thanks man! :]

Probably just a basic. It's gonna be my daily. I need the ecu you just mailed though so I have something to drive while I drop the ve in.

Calum. I got the ecu today and it still doesn't work properly. I haven't changed anything on the car. The CEL is still on and it's still running extremely rich and it spits and sputters. Please let me know what I should do; I'm completely disappointed.

When you check for codes what does it show?

Sounds like an maf issue to me.

11-19-2009, 03:51 PM
How are you checking for codes? Do you have a consult adapter?

11-19-2009, 04:23 PM
Just turning the thing on the ecu. Man idk what I did but the car runs great now. I pulled codes and cleaned the spark plugs and re-gapped them. Now the cel is off and the car runs awesome. Thanks calum.

Make sure the ECU is seated properly. If you have intermittent problems make sure all the grounds on the harness are connected properly (and clean).

Alright. Yeah last night when the car wasn't running right I didn't have the ecu screwed down to the plate that holds it. I just plugged it in and I set it in there and took her for a spin. Maybe pulling codes caused something to get a better connection?
