Ok, this damn car is driving me insane! I have a 1995 200SX SE-R. I just recently replaced the crank pulley because the factory one broke apart. I had a minor oil leak, so I replaced the front main seal. Oil doesn't appear to be leaking anymore. after fixing the leak I checked the oil, and the level was fine. I have been noticing a burning oil smell after driving the car, I thought it was just some oil burning off from the original leak (I cleaned the area pretty good after the main seal was installed). Well it has been about 2 weeks and it is still smelling bad! I checked the oil and it was about half empty, it was also kind of light colored (approx 2500 miles on this oil) and had a gas kind of smell to it. What the hell is going on here? I have been getting a cylinder 1 misfire code but no one knows why it is sending it. I have replaced spark plugs, plug wires, cap and rotor, and Nissan checked the injector and said it was fine. What can I do? Anything...Please! Before I give up on this damn car!!!!

Random thoughts:

Change your oil before you backfire into the crankcase and blow the oil pan off!!

Try swapping injectors from Cyl #1 to any other cyl to see if the injector is leaking. (how did Nissan test the injector?)

Run your engine with the vacuum hose disconnected from the fuel pressure regulator and see if fuel comes out of the FPR vacuum port- the diaphragm could be ruptured and you're sucking in raw fuel into the engine.

Did the dealer put a scope on your ignition system to see if it is healthy?

My guess is that the dealer just hooked up a consult to see if the injector was working properly. But they probably didn't check to see if the o-rings were worn/damaged.

Does anyone think that replacing these o rings would be a good idea for maintenance? I'm not having any specific problem, but I'm sure they are already 130k miles old.
