I am installing a 1994 Se-r dash into a 1994 4 door XE. Are the harnesses the same so it can plug right in? Or do I need the dash harness from the Se-r?

if it is a 91 se-r (title of your post)then you will need to run a speedo cable to your tranny

if it is a 94 se-r (body of message) then the plugs will fit but will require moving the wires around inside the plugs as the instrument lights are in different areas on both of those clusters. search the tech info section the is a write up on this process. i did this swap myself and the write up was very usefull and easy to understand.

its easy but yeah you need to do a hole as the 4 door xe dont have it.its were the speedo cable runs tru the row d in the instrumental is almost the same you just need to mess with the plugs look at a ecu pin out for your year of ecu your using. i used a 92 ecu & wiring is was the same only i had to look for the tech and run the speedo wire true a hole i made..if you need any help pm me.let me know how the project is going.
