is there any interest in a carbon fiber pannel that replaces the glass in the sunroof? I have made one and put it in my car 200sx and i can duplicate them. I've been doing composite work steady for about 2 years now, the price of carbon is kinda high, but i can make them for approx. $200-250, just seeing if its worth stocking carbon in bulk to reduce the price of each peice.

what would be good if is someone in the toronto area can supply a b13 sunroof so that there is no expense in getting me one to make the mold from. i occasionally do some work for a scrap yard so i'll see if i can get one from them, but i kinda doubt that they will have one.

here a few pics of the first one i did, I was supprised how shiney and reflective the finish came out (may be hard to see in the pics). this one i didn't vacume bag to my mold and it turned out great, i will vacume bag them if i make them becuase that will make them stronger and lighter by removing the excess resin.

yes, it will be the same as the glass, your sun roof will operate the same, obviously just can't see through it when its closed :)

will the seal around it come with?

you use the stock seal and frame, its really easy to remove. if you use a hair dryer or heat gun on the seal and edge of the stock glass the eurathane that holds it togeather from the factory becomes soft and you literally just pull it apart or can use a puddy scraper if you are carfull, then you just clean the eurathane off the seal and stock sun roof frame. Then you put a bit of urathane on the components where the factory eurathane was , place the carbon piece in place and then put the seal back in place, its rather easy, about an hour or two to do. can be done in the car if you want too. and you can get a tube of eurathane at home depot for like 5 or 10 bucks.
