I recently acquired a GTI-R and would like to be able to drive it this spring. Anyway, I am just trying to get an idea of how I should go about trying to register it and get legit plates. I live in CT and my state requires emission testing on any car built within the last 25 years. Just wondering how you guys get by emissions and the whole RHD thing, lol. Any help or info is greatly appreciated. Thanks!:biggthump

Yeah, California has gotta be the hardest state to register a car like this I would imagine. Do you know the usernames of anyone on here that has found a way to register these cars here in the States? I'm just trying to find the best/easiest way to do this.

Not really, the person I bought it off of swapped a US VIN on it, he was able to register it that way a few years ago when CT didn't have emissions (long story on that). So basically I have a title for an 89' USDM "Pulasr" and no JDM tags/paperwork etc.

i can get the car titled for you correctly with the RNN14 vin #.but its not that cheap top do.PM me there is ways of doing it that you wont have to deal with emissions as well
